The same property, the same month, the same numbers, three template philosophies. Everything teal-tinted was populated centrally with no property typing; the grey comment boxes, styled exactly as comments appear in today's packs, are the only places the General Manager writes. The sample commentary is the property's own May text, re-slotted (new slots with no pack equivalent carry a marked DH illustration). The skin is the real one: Aleph logo and slide conventions lifted from the vetted deck.
Three candidate templates for the future BRM, each fully worked with the real May 2026 month at ONOMO Dar es Salaam, taken from the pack as it was actually issued. The aim is to agree the template, not to review the month.
| A · Compressed Classic | B · Story Spine | C · Exception Brief | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organising principle | Departments, capped at one slide | The owner's five questions | Materiality: what moved |
| Length | 14 slides, fixed | 9 slides, fixed | 6 to 13 pages, varies with the month |
| GM writes | About twelve bounded boxes, one or two per slide | Six boxes: five answers plus commitment colour | Six boxes: one per exception, plus initiatives, decisions and commitment colour |
| Change-management cost | Lowest | Medium: departments lose their territory | Highest: thresholds must be agreed first |
| Fits the corporate brief | Partly: still recital-shaped | Directly: built from the 6 Aug wishes | Directly, for reading time |
| Natural failure mode | Bloat pressure returns | Consensus battle with departments | Owners distrust a shrinking deck |
Four questions decide this. Slide references like B5 (template letter plus slide number, shown in each slide's footer) make a note precise.
Colour semantics: white and grey chrome with the Aleph logo = the fixed frame · teal tint = pre-populated centrally (AUTO) · grey dashed box with white text = General Manager input (GM), styled as comments appear in today's packs. ### = value lives in the P&L workbook and fills automatically in the future state. In the graphs: grey-ink bars = pack-stated values (right of the centre line = the good side), muted red = the adverse side, black tick or circle = a reference point, hatched outline = fills from the workbook in the future state.
